California DUI checkpoint in Santa Cruz this Weekend
The California drunk driving checkpoint will be on Cedar Street adjacent to Pacific Avenue. The California DUI checkpoint routes will be clearly marked and posted the night of the California drunk driving checkpoint. California DUI checkpoints are a critical component for raising public awareness regarding the dangers of drunk driving and the public safety risks associated with California DUI related collisions.
Vehicles that enter the checkpoint DUI California will be stopped and California drunk driving officers will attempt to determine if the drivers have been drinking and/or show objective signs of drug use. If deemed appropriate, the screening officer may direct a driver into a secondary screening area for further investigation. DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols (where numerous officers are out patrolling for drivers appearing under the influence) occur throughout the year.
Funding for this community safety program is provided through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
PRESS CONTACT: Rudy Escalante (831) 420-5823 – Members of the media are invited to observe the checkpoint. Please contact us in advance if you are interested so we can notify the officers
